Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1303.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Sarah Elliott Sledge, a native of Ringgold and resident of Houma, died from complications of Alzheimer's Friday, March 8, 2013, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Wimberly Memorial Chapel in Wimberley Cemetery in Ringgold. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. in the chapel. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Thomas Collins Sledge; two children, Vicki Adams and husband, Nathan, and Tommy Sledge and wife, Sonja Pitre; grandchildren, Paul Adams of Dallas, Texas, Dan Adams and his wife, Annie, of Shreveport, Andrew Sledge and Jessica Sledge; nine great- grandchildren; and sister, Gloria Ludwig of Ringgold. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Nell Elliott from Ringgold; Aunt Glo's husband, Clarence, and their daughter, Glo baby. Sarah was a musician, gardener, avid LSU supporter, and a season ticket holder for the Saints. The family would like to give appreciation for the help and loving support they have received from Sarah's caregivers, April Francis, Shelby Boudreaux, Nurse Mimi and Amedisys Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the MacDonell United Methodist Children's Service, 8326 Main St., Houma, the Crosby Tugs Bobby Hebert Bayou Golf Tournament, a benefit for Cystic Fibrosis, in care of Wallace Ellender, 239 La. 55, Bourg, LA 70343 or to Great Strides of Thibodaux, Avery Adams Team, 4621 W. Napoleon Ave. Suite 207, Metairie, LA 70001, a Cystic Fibrosis benefit. Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold is in charge of arrangements. ======================
