Allen P. Staidum Sr., 81, a native and resident of Houma, died Thursday, March 
21, 2013.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Greater St. 
Matthew's Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the 
church, 

with burial in New Rising Sun Baptist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his sons, Allen P. Jr., Frederick C. (Janice), and Carlton 
(Sherry) Staidum Sr.; daughters, Geraund (Isaiah) Lawson, Marilyn Staidum, 
Gwendolyn (Leslie Sr.) Joseph, and Angela (Walter Jr.) Miles; 21 grandchildren; 
and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Gauche-Staidum; son, Jason 
Staidum; parents, Rufus and Zenobia C. Staidum; brothers, Thomas R. Staidum and 
Rudolph LeBlanc; and sister, Lillie S. Thomas.

Jones Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
