Stephen M. "Monty" Sykes, 69, a native of Suffex, Va., and resident of Cut Off, 
died Wednesday, March 27, 2013.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Samart-Mothe 
Funeral Home in Cut Off. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the 
funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret G. Sykes; sons, Stephen M. Harris, and 
Robert and Grant Boughamer; daughter, Julie B. Newhouse; brother, William S. 
Sykes III; sister, Robin K. Sykes; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William S. Sykes and Hazel E. Harrel 
Sykes; and sisters, Jacqueline Samuel, Vivian Hudson, Carolyn Allen and Barbara 
Rogers.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
