Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Houma. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diane King Dryden; sons, Fritz and wife, Denise Dryden, and Mark Dryden; daughters, Dana Poiencot and husband, Andy, and Dena Roy and husband, Mark; daughter-in-law, Allison Dryden; grandchildren, Jennifer Dryden Bent and husband, Jason, Alayna Dryden Giles and husband, Todd, Lindsey Dryden Champagne and husband, John, Brandon Dryden and wife, Bligh, Kayla Dryden Guidry and husband, Nicholas, Blake Dryden, Chad Dryden and wife, Jenny, Holly, Chase, and Cody Dryden, Beaux, Hunter and Dylan Poiencot, and Hayley and Megan Roy; step-grandchildren, Lindsey and Derrick Roy; great-grandchildren, Leila Bent, Carson Champagne, Luke Giles, Kenleigh Dryden, Emily Dryden, and Kate and Baylor Guidry; and step-great-granddaughter, Rylan Roy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Alice Klingman Dryden; father and mother-in-law, Vernal and Hazel Marcel King; brothers, Fletcher and David Dryden; sister, Nancy Dryden Jones; son, Bret Dryden; daughter, Donna Dryden McElroy; and nephews, Kendal, Bryan and Steven Dryden. Jack was a loving, devoted and loyal husband, father, grandfather and friend. His love, support and enthusiasm for his family could never be measured, and his joyful presence will be greatly missed. We will miss his humorous stories and priceless life lessons and always hold them dear to our hearts. He ran track and played football for Terrebonne High School. He also played football for Hinds Jr. College and Tulane University. He was retired from Texaco after 20 years of dedicated service, and he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Houma. The family would like to thank the amazing people of First United Methodist Church and Haydel Hospice for their care, support and compassion for Jack and his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association , the American Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society. ======================
