Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1304.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Vivian Marceline Dufrene, 98, a native and resident of Raceland, was born on Christmas Day 1914 and passed away Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church cemetery. She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Sandra P. Katz; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Grabert Dufrene and Allen J. Dufrene; sisters, Lillian D. Pennington and Corinne Dufrene; and brothers, Will, Joseph and Allen Dufrene. She was an educator in the Lafourche Parish Schools and St. Mary's Nativity School for 47 years. She was very active in her Catholic faith and was a charter member of The Catholic Daughters of America. She belonged to the St. Mary's Altar Society and was a lector and Eucharistic minster. In recognition of her services to the church, the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux honored her with the Bishops Medal in 1987. She was a loving person and will be missed by her family and friends.
