Joyce Granier Martinez, 82, a resident of Thibodaux and native of Vacherie, 
died Monday, April 15, 2013. She was born December 24, 1930.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Our Lady of 
Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 
at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, 

with burial in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church cemetery in Chackbay.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Leo Martinez; son, Lawrence "Larry" 
Martinez and wife, Joy; daughters, Barbara Butler and husband, Clyde "Butch," 
Janice Portier and husband, Nolan, Deborah Boudreaux and husband, Harold "Bud," 
Phyllis Daigle, and Gloria Dempster and husband, Don; brothers, Henry and 
Vernon Granier; sisters, Noelie Theriot and Lucille Cortez; grandchildren, 
Ashley Dempster, Dylan Dempster, Colin Dempster, Brent Daigle, Jacob Daigle, 
Paige Martinez, Tiffany Millien, Gerard Boudreaux, Erin Butler, Kasey Butler, 
Joshua Portier, Lacey Portier and Jena Parfait; great-grandchildren, Chaz 
Daigle, Drew Portier, London Theriot and Gage Millien.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albin Granier and Noelie Waguespack 
Granier; daughter, Judith Martinez; brothers, Warren Granier, Albin "A.J." 
Granier Jr. and Arthur Granier; sisters, Rosalyn Hennan, Dorothy Ordoyne and 
Dolly Mae Cortez.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
