Robert Lee Moon, 83, died on Saturday, April 13, 2013, in Thibodaux. 

He was a native of Ellwood City, Penn., and a resident of Ft. Myers, Fla., 
prior to moving to Thibodaux. 

He was a long-time sufferer of Alzheimer's Disease and died peacefully in the 
home of his son, David and wife, Tracy Moon, where he resided for almost two 
and a half years.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Landry's Funeral Home in 
Thibodaux. There will be a private memorial service at 9 a.m. Thursday at First 
Presbyterian Church in Thibodaux. 

He will be buried alongside his wife in Ft. Myers, Fla.

He is survived by his sons, Gregg Moon and wife, Rose, and David Moon and wife, 
Tracy; brother, Donald Moon and wife, Deborah; grandchildren, Lauren Fuentes, 
Lindsey Moon, Rhiannon Mayeux, Jordan Mayeux, Robert Moon, Chad Brewer and 
Robert Brewer; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara Boots Moon; 
and parents, Paul and Helen Stoll Moon.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army. 

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially traveling. He was a loving and 
devoted husband, father and grandfather.

The entire family would also like to thank his compassionate, loving and 
dedicated caregiver of over five years, Wanda Daigle, of Thibodaux.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the 
Alzheimer's Association or the First Presbyterian Church of Thibodaux.

Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
