Plaisance Sr., 78, a native and resident of Cut Off, died at 6:04 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off, with burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church cemetery in Cut Off. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maudry Naquin Plaisance; sons, Herman (Iris) Jr., Randy (Denise) and Wayne (Rose) Plaisance; daughter, Mona Plaisance; sisters, Irene Griffin, Ramona Williams, Rita Guidry and Irma Hartman; grandchildren, Michael Plaisance, Chrisy (Todd) Rousse, Jason (Ragen) Plaisance, Scott (Alicia) Plaisance, Taylor (Roxie) Plaisance, Lacey (Chase) Messer, Wayne (Charlotte) Plaisance Jr., Megan Plaisance and companion, Thomas Tondreau, and Shelly (Jonathan) Porras; and great-grandchildren, Mia Plaisance, Owen Plaisance, Cylus Adams, Caden Messer, Taylor Plaisance Jr., Jude Messer, Diego Adams, Calleigh Plaisance, Kyle Plaisance, Dawson Messer, Braydin Plaisance, Allie Rousse and Carter Plaisance. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evest Plaisance Sr. and Augusta Ledet Plaisance; son, Jason Paul Plaisance; brothers, Landon, Ernest, Norman, Evest Jr., Augustin and Paul Plaisance; and sister, Elzina Gisclair. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a boat captain and loved being in his trawl boat the "E.T." on the water. He was a loving family man.
