Newell Solet, 64, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died 
Monday, April 8, 2013.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Gertrude Geddes 
Willis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral 
home, 

with burial in Southdown Cemetery.

He is survived by his companion, Louise Matherne, of Vacherie; sons, James and 
Ernie Solet, of Houma; sister, Mary Solet Authement, of Houma; and brother, 
Paul Edward Billiot, of Houma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ebbie and Nita Billiot Blanchard 
Solet; and grandparents, Peter and Louise Billiot.

Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
