Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1305.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Robert "Just Bob" Britt, 56, a native of Marion, S.C., and resident of Bourg, died Sunday, May 19, 2013. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in Rogers Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Anita Ledet Britt; daughters, Candace Porche and husband, David, and Kayla Peltier and husband, Jake; son, Ralph Britt, and companion, Haley Lapeyrouse; grandchildren, Jonas and Abigail Porche and Kamryn Peltier; brothers, Ricky Britt and wife, Theresa, Russell Britt and Roger Britt and wife, Lyn; and sister, Susan Griffin and companion, Carey Eschete; mother- in-law, Eve "Weve" Ledet; sister-in-law, Gail Schlemmer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reba and Willie B. Britt; brothers, Ralph Britt and Billy Schlemmer; and father-in-law, Curtis Ledet Sr. He worked for Lin-Bar Marine and was a loving husband, father and granddaddy. He made everyone around him laugh. He loved a good joke and didn't know a stranger. He will be truly missed by many family and friends, but especially his buddies from Gene's bar and the Cocodrie Gang. He was member of the "Party Guy's" float in the Krewe of Hercules for 21 years. The family would like to thank Dr. Gamble and staff, especially his nurse, friend and neighbor, Jeanne "Cissy" Gernon for all that she has done. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, 8166 Main Street Suite 201, Houma, LA 70360.
