Verna Stagni Chauvin, 84, a native and resident of Houma, died at 4:45 p.m. 
Saturday, May 11, 2013.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at St. Gregory 
Barbarigo Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. 
Wednesday at the church, 

with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

She is survived by her sons, Lionel "Boo" Chauvin and wife, Pansy, and Paul 
Chauvin and wife, Jackie, all of Houma; daughters, Stella Chauvin Brown, of 
Houma, Theresa Portier and husband, Chuck, of Lafayette, Anna Beth Trahan and 
husband, Evest "Junior", of Houma, and Sharon Bilbo, of Houma; sister, Evelyn 
Scalfi, of DeRidder; 10 grandchildren, Francesca Wimprine, Trisha Portier, Ryan 
Chauvin, Christopher Chauvin, Anna MacMorran, Erin Newman, Charles Portier III, 
Courtney Chauvin, Seth Bilbo and Candace Chauvin; and great-grandchildren, 
Audrey, Isabella, Lance, Lea, Lily and Brody.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel "Snow" Chauvin; parents, D.J. 
and Stella Stagni; and brother, Roy Stagni Sr.
She was retired from the Terrebonne Parish School Board. She was a parishioner 
of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank Jill with Hospice of South Louisiana.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
