Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Thibodaux Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. She is survived by her six children, Susan and husband, Barry Verdun, Sandra and husband, Joseph P. Kolwe Sr., Sharon and husband, Victor Rodrigue, Connie and husband, Robert "Moose" Duet, Melanie and husband, Scott Ganaway, and Fred C. Hebert Jr. and wife, Caroline Blum Hebert; brother, Paul Benoit; and sisters, Julia Bouquet and Cecile Rodrigue. She was the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Hebert Sr.; parents, Paul Beauvais and Odile Usey Benoit; stepfather, Adam Willis Benoit; brother, Willie Benoit; and sisters, Lucille Lirette and Velma Benoit. Ruby was born August 8, 1930, in Thibodaux. She was a dedicated mother and a parishioner of St. Genevieve Catholic Church. She dedicated her life to her family and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her children, grand- children, and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and many dear friends. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph Hospice and caregivers, Angela Morrison and Joyce Andras for their comfort and care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Joseph's Hospice.
