Lonies Anthony Mayeux Sr, 96, a native of Marksville, and resident of Chalmette 
for more than 60 years and resident of Cut Off for seven years, died Sunday, 
May 5, 2013.

He was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Ruth S. Mayeux; sons, Lonies Mayeux Jr 
and wife, Rose, Rodney Mayeux and companion, Yvonne, and Jerry Mayeux and wife, 
Judy; brother, LeeRoy Mayeux; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 
one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond Mayeux and Ella Normand; and 
sisters, Carrie Born and Lucille Cole.

He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
