Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at noon Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. He is survived by his sons, Sidney Troy Purdy and wife, Darlene E. Purdy, of Meridian, Miss., and Michael Kenneth Freeman and wife, Marilyn F. Freeman, of Prairieville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Desidier, Pearl Stevens and Shirley Purdy; and brother, Herbert Otis Purdy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alcide Rella "Pat" Barr Purdy; parents, William Sidney Purdy and Celia T. Purdy; sister, Eloise and Margaret Purdy; and brother, Ronnie Purdy. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served as a special deputy for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office. He was the director of security at LUMCON for 20 years. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ======================
