Shirley Legendre Rodrigue, 83, a native and former resident of Vacherie, died 
unexpectedly at her home in Thibodaux, Tuesday, May 7, 2013.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Philip 
Catholic Church in Vacherie. A Mass of Christian burial will be at noon 
Saturday at the church, 

with burial in St. Philip Catholic Church cemetery in Vacherie.

She is survived by her children, Wanda R. (Malcolm) Duplantis, Wayne J. (Anne) 
Rodrigue, Erkle G. (Lois) Rodrigue Jr., Linda R. (Jon) Hirsch, Stephen F. 
Rodrigue and Michele R. (Kenneth) Thibodeaux. Her family included 12 
grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, 
Jane L. Wilde; brothers, Percy (Elaine) Legendre Jr., Leroy Legendre, Stephen 
(Maureen) Legendre and Ragus (Rita) Legendre.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erkle G. Rodrigue Sr.; parents, Percy 
and Vernice P. Legendre; brother, Floyd Legendre; and granddaughter, Beth Anne 
Rodrigue.

She was a parishioner of St. Philip Catholic Church in Vacherie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may by made in her name to E.D. White 
Catholic High School or St. Joseph Elementary School in Thibodaux.

Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
