Marlene H. Samanie, 70, a native of New Orleans, and resident of Houma, died 
Friday, May 17, 2013.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. A 
memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband, Russell P. Samanie Sr.; sons, Gary Samanie and 
Dawn, Russell Samanie Jr. and wife, Charlene, and Toby Samanie; daughter, Nina 
Story and husband, Brent; brothers, Jules A. Hebert and wife, Verna, and Don 
Bourg and wife, Wendy; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas Hebert and Olga Babin; 
stepfather, Tildon Babin; sister, Janet Ledet; and mother-in-law, Irene 
Samanie.

Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
