Josephine Austin Varvaro, 86, a native of New Orleans and resident of 
Thibodaux, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time 
Saturday at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. 
Saturday at the funeral home, 

with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Donald) Carlos; son, Stephen (Linda) 
Varvaro; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four great-great-
grandchildren; sister, Doris Gaynard; and brother, Bernard Austin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Gaspar G. Varvaro; and parents, 
Alexander and Pauline Austin.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
