The Rev. Deacon Joseph Nolan Comeaux Sr., 79, a native of Delcambre and 
resident of Berwick, died at 1:41 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013.

Visitation will from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan 
City and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Stephen's Catholic 
Church in Berwick. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at 
the church, 

with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2 in Houma.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Prosperie Comeaux, of Montegut; children, 
Robin Comeaux Bonvillain, Sharon Comeaux, Joseph Comeaux Jr., Tina Comeaux, 
John Comeaux, Tonya Comeaux Broussard and Josel Comeaux Domangue; 12 
grandchildren, Nicole Lirette Cantrelle, Nicholas Bonvillain, Sarah Comeaux, 
Hannah Comeaux, Gabriel Comeaux, Seth Comeaux, Kristen Broussard, Katlin 
Broussard Daigle, Michael Broussard, Joshua Domangue and Taylor Domangue; two 
great-grandchildren, Jadyn Domangue and Kinslee Domangue.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bellus and Lelia Comeaux; brothers, 
Warren and Russel Comeaux; and nephew, Kevin Comeaux.

He was a retired regional gas lift sales manager for Halliburton. After 
retirement, he pursued his deaconship for the Diocese of Lafayette. He was a 
member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 6170 in Houma, where he served as 
Grand Knight in 1980 and was State K. of C. Squire Chief Counselor. He was also 
a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 7084 in Berwick.
He was a most loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather and friend. 
He dedicated his life to God and his community and served his St. Stephen's 
Catholic Church parishioners in Berwick. Through example, he lived by his faith 
in Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and we were 
truly BLESSED to have him in our lives! His journey is over here on earth, but 
his GLORIOUS ETERNAL JOURNEY HAS JUST BEGUN!!!

Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.
