Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1306.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Enola Trosclair Guidry, 91, a native of Edgard, past resident of Valentine for 37 years and most recent resident of Houma for 28 years, died at 9:39 a.m., Monday, June 24, 2013. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma. A Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Thursday at the church, with burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Larose. She is survived by her daughters, Alana Barquero and companion, Enrique, of Valentine, and Donna Roberts and husband, William, of Springfield, Mo.; son, Dana Guidry and wife, Catherine, of Houma; grandchildren, Alana Guidry and husband, Mark, of Valentine, Enrique Barquero Jr., of Valentine, Jay Griffin, of Springfield, Mo., Danielle Daigle and husband, Hunter, of Baton Rouge, David Guidry, of Houma, and Alexis Guidry, of Houma; great-grandchildren, Tristen Barquero, Dominique Barquero, Brody Guidry, Mia Guidry, Caroline Barquero, Haylee Griffin, Paul Daigle, and André Daigle; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Edgar Joseph Guidry Jr.; parents, Clerville Trosclair and Theresa Abadie Trosclair; brothers, Edmund, Norman "Bill," and Alvin Trosclair; and sisters, Edna Haydel and Laurence Marcotte. Enola was born Feb. 4, 1922, on Evergreen Plantation in Edgard. When she was 25, she married Edgar, and they remained together for 35 years until his death in 1982. Edgar owned and ran Guidry's Grocery and Bar in Valentine, which was inherited from his father, while Enola worked in her home raising her three children. She loved her cats, flowers, dancing and bingo, and her strong Catholic/Christian faith and trust in God was unmistakable and unquestionable. She touched many people by her kind, gentle and loving ways. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the loving people at Heritage Manor in Houma for the wonderful care and kindness that was given to Enola for the last three years, and would also like to thank Haydel Hospice for the care and compassion that was given over the last few weeks, and would finally like to thank all of the wonderful people at Terrebonne General, AMG and West Jefferson Hospital for the care that was given to Enola over the last several months.
