He was a resident and native of Thibodaux. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday at Thibodaux Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday the church, with burial in St. John Cemetery. He is survived by his sons, Wendell J. Hidalgo and wife, Janie, Brennan P. Hidalgo and wife, Yvette, and Gerard J. Hidalgo and wife, Gwen; daughter, Deborah H. Vidrine; eight grandchildren, Michelle Munson, Dawn Noone, Wesley Hidalgo, David Hidalgo, Ashley Godwin, Dylan Hidalgo, Danielle Lackey and Alex Hidalgo; and eight great-grandchildren, Taylor Munson, Katelyn Stevens, Emily Stevens, Nicole Noone, Mason Ortego, Kody Moody, Cole Hidalgo and Brody Hidalgo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Morvant Hidalgo; parents, Kliebert and Alicia Hidalgo; siblings, Agnes Mahliet, Guy Hidalgo, Roland Hidalgo and Frank Hidalgo; and son-in-law, Stephen Vidrine. He loved spending time with his family, hunting and fishing. He was also a longtime member of WOW and a volunteer for "A Smile is Worth." Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ======================
