Omar A. "Hop" Hopkins Jr., 88, a native of Olla and resident of Houma, passed 
away Saturday, June 22, 2013.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Paulette Hopkins, of Houma; children, 
Vickie Hopkins Nelson, of Texas, Simone Hopkins Taylor, of Georgia, Linda N. 
Greenburg, of Houma, and Jack D. Nicholas, of Abita Springs; six grandchildren; 
and two great-grandchildren.

He was a longtime employee with Placid Oil Company. He served in the U.S. Navy, 
and he was a member of the Houma Shrine Club.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
