Dorothy Mae Nevis, 68, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, died at 2:55 
a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Houma, 
and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Residence Baptist Church. 
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church 

with burial in Union Benevolent Cemetery.

She is survived by seven sons, Kimball, George Jr. (Angela), Bryron, Gregory, 
Elliott, Shaun and Christopher Nevis; one daughter, Deborah Nevis; four 
sisters, Rosemary (the Rev. Vincent) Fusilier, Betty Celestine, Leona (Joseph) 
Norman, and Etha Mae Turner; 35 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Nevis Sr.; and parents, 
William and Alma McGuire.

Jones Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
