SAVOIE, OSCAR, JR.

Oscar Joseph Savoie Jr., 60, a native of Matthews and resident of Des 
Allemands, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at St. Gertrude 
Catholic Church in Des Allemands. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. 
Thursday at the church, 

with burial in St. Gertrude Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Candies Savoie; son, Rhett Savoie; daughter, 
Randi Savoie; mother, Pearl Eschette Arceneaux; and beloved dog, Benji.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Joseph Savoie Sr.; and brother, 
Ted Savoie.

He retired from Monsanto after working there for more than 30 years. In his 
spare time, he was very involved at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des 
Allemands, where he taught religion classes and was a member of numerous church 
committees. He also loved to travel with his family. He enjoyed reading and was 
an avid LSU sports fan.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
