Charley Herman Stoves, 90, a native of Houma and resident of Chicago, Ill., 
died Friday, June 14, 2013.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Howard Third Zion Baptist 
Church. 

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Howard Third Zion 
Baptist Church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Rita Washington Stoves; brother, James 
(Anita) Stoves; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Stoves Sr. and Clara Miller 
Stoves; grandparents, Charley Stoves and Susana Williams Stoves; brothers, 
Edward Millard Sr. and Louis Stoves; and sisters, Susie Wolfe, Bertha Norman 
Fleming and Rebecca Westley.

He was a retired U.S. Army veteran.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
