He was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 9:00 AM until service time at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Callahan Bonvillain, Houma, LA, sons, Mark Bonvillain and wife Cindy, Houma, LA, Chris Bonvillain and wife Carol, Lafayette, LA, Gary Bonvillain and wife Tiffany, Houma, LA, daughters, Jan Robichaux and husband Bryan, Bourg, LA, Lisa Avet and husband Sterling, Houma, LA, Donna Mazarac and husband Kevin, Houma, LA, grandchildren, Brandi Dempster and husband Jonathan, Joshua Heffker, Brad Robichaux, Scott Blanchard, Brett Triplett and husband Andrew, Reed Bonvillain, Amy Bonvillain, Derek Bonvillain, Kelsey Bonvillain, Kyla Bonvillain, Alaina Bonvillain, Paul Mazarac, Ella Mazarac, great grandchildren, Christopher Parfait, MaKayla Parfait, Dawson Collins, Brent Parfait, Kinslee Heffker, Jude Blanchard, London Castille, step great grandchild, Preslie Dempster,and sister, Miriam Bonvillain Hebert and husband Vince. He was preceded in death by his son, Dale Bonvillain, parents, Edgar and Ella Guidry Bonvillain; brothers, Hallie Bonvillain, Eulan Rodrigue, and Houston Rodrigue; sisters, Hallet Moreaux, Madeline Gordon, Consuelo Mobley and Grace Lyons; Wilma Bonvillain Boudreaux and infant sister, Doris Bonvillain. Verlin was an Oilfield Construction Foreman with Pennzoil for thirty six years. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant. He was a lifelong bowler, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
