She went to her heavenly home Thursday, July 11, 2013, after a wonderful life at the age of 94. Visitation will from 10 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. She is survived by her sister, Maybelle Carlos Harrell; and brothers, Leo and Julius "Turk" Carlos; her children and their spouses, John and Carol Dollar, Marlene and Mike Hallenberger, and Mary and Eddie Lusher; grandchildren, Jeff and Michele Dollar, Kim Pepper, Allison and Mike Grieb, Adri Hallenberger, Lex and Molly Hallenberger, and Jessica and Jill Lusher; and great-grandchildren, Shelby Kays, Skylar Pepper, Jonathan and Zachary Dollar and Grady Grieb. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John T. Dollar Sr.; parents, John Herbert Carlos and Bernadette Bergeron Carlos; brothers, Herbert "Buddy" and Charles Carlos; and sister, Helen Carlos Whipple. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a wonderful homemaker and an amazing creole cook. She always welcomed everyone into her home. Her life's journey took her from Houma to New Orleans to Mandeville to Peachtree City, Ga., and now back to Houma. She lived a rich and full life and was an example to us all.
