Payton Dewitt Hughes, 67, a native of Belton, Texas, and resident of Houma, 
died Saturday, June 29, 2013.

A private memorial service will be held Wednesday.

He is survived by his son, Paul Reigns; daughter, Patricia Huff; brother, Glen 
Hughes; sisters, Jeanelle Sotko and Betty Kidd; and numerous grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Hughes; parents, Alfred Hughes and 
Myrtle Petty Hughes; brother, Charles Wayne Hughes; and sister, Barbara Pruitt.

Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
