He was 80, a native and resident of Vacherie, LA. Visiting at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie, LA from 9:00am to the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am Saturday, July 13, 2013, Father Michael Micelli officiating. Burial in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church cemetery, Vacherie. Survived by his wife, Celeste Dumas James of Vacherie, LA; 12 daughters, Clairrita (Leonard) Raphael, Paulette (Anthony) Smith, Joelle (Henry Adams) Seymore, Acquanette (Reginald) Roussell, Fredricka (Harry) Calloway, Christina (Norris) Washington, Eva (Howard) Irving, Sunniva Carter, Cristy James (Robert Russ), Rosalyn (Michael) Mitchell, Patrice and April Dumas; 1 son, Troy (Connie) Dumas; 1 brother, Sterling (Jean) James; Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his former wife, Eva D. James; parents, Agnes and Heedley James; 1 sister, Mathilda J. Jones.
