Cherie Ann Mahaffey, 37, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013. 

She was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 9:00 AM until Service 
time at First Baptist Church of Houma Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 
July 20, 2013 at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Houma. 

Burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

She is survived by her, Parents, Robert Stephen Mahaffey and Helen Henry 
Mahaffey, Twin Sister, Stephanie Mahaffey, Brother, Stephen Mahaffey and wife, 
Chloe East Mahaffey, Godchild, Dexter Billiot and her beloved fur babies, 
Sebastian and Angel.

She was preceded in death by her, Grandparents, William Jefferson Mahaffey and 
Celeste Leach Mahaffey and Levi John Henry and Helen Leonard Henry, Uncle, 
Billy Mahaffey.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Houma.

Cherie was employed by Terrebonne Parish Library for 15 years working as the 
Youth Services Manager for the last 10 years. Through her job, she touched 
countless lives of the children and families who attended her story times and 
programs. It was Cherie’s faith that strengthened her and all those around her 
during her courageous battle with cancer. 
She always held firm to her favorite bible verse: “I can do all things through 
Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13) 

She will be deeply missed by all those who she inspired with her positivity and 
her beautiful smile.
