Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1307.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Victor "Vic" Michel, 94, a native of Morgan City, and resident of Houma, died of natural causes at 4:10pm, Saturday, July 20, 2013. He was was surrounded by several generations of family members. Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, Monday, July 22, 2013 at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8:30am to 11:00am, Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church with interment to follow in St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Irene Crochet Michel. He is also survived by nine (9) children: Michael A. and wife Ann Claire, Victor T. and wife Sheila, Carole M. Prevost and husband Robert, Charles S. and wife Paula, Chris D. and wife Jacqueline, Steve P. and wife Julie, Angelo C. and wife Denise, Gerald J. and wife Himaya, and Martin J. and wife Allison as well as 28 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Mike and Lillie Michel, one brother Philip Michel, one son Paul H. Crochet, Jr. and three grandchildren. He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. Vic was a businessman involved in the grocery and pharmacy fields and a retired Terrebonne Parish school bus driver. He is a U.S. Army World War II Veteran and lifetime member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. His greatest joys were his God, his family and his country. The entire family expresses its sincere gratitude to Dr. Jules Dupont, Jr. and the compassionate staff of Hospice of South Louisiana. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
