Henry Rockward Sr., 80, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, 
died Sunday, July 8, 2013. 

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time 
Saturday at New Zion Baptist Church in Houma. Funeral services will be at 11 
a.m. Saturday at the church, 

with burial in New Zion Baptist Church cemetery in Houma. 

He is survived by his sons, Retired Sgt. Major Henry Rockward Jr. ,Dexter, 
Kerry, Charles, Tommy and the Rev. Dr. David Rockward Sr.; daughters, Deborah 
Rockward and Vivian Rockward Carter; brother, the Rev. Calvin Rockward Sr.; 
sisters, Ollie Mae Jones and Yvonne R. Banks; 25 grandchildren; and 14 great-
grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Jenkins Rockward; parents, Willie 
Rockward Sr. and Thelma Riley Rockward; daughter, Carolyn Rockward; brother, 
Willie John Rockward; and sisters, Ora Mae Wallis, Ida Bell Allen and Thelma 
Juanita Calloway. 

He was a Baptist, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
