Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1308.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Marjorie Perret Amedee, 92, born April 27, 1921, a native of Edgard and resident of Houma for 73 years, died peacefully at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at TGMC surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by her son, Dr. Ronald G. Amedee and wife, Dr. Elisabeth Rareshide; daughters, Daria A. Thomassie and husband, Roland, and Marjorie A. Verret and husband, Charles; four grandchildren, Monique T. Martin and husband, Stephen Sr., David C. Verret and wife, Sondra D., Garret P. Thomassie and wife, Michelle G., and Ryan G. Thomassie and wife, Tippy O; six great-grandchildren, Kristen Martin, Ashley Martin, Stephen Martin Jr., Dylan Verret, Blaise Thomassie and Bailey Thomassie; brother, Marion Perret and wife, Annette F.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Clemsy J. Amedee; parents, Louis Daveney Perret and Daria Darensbourg Perret; grandson, Scott G. Verret; brothers, Lionel Perret Sr. and wife, Angelle, Roger Perret, Alvin Perret Sr., and Louis D. Perret; and sister, Elaine P. and husband, Michael Becnel. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, working with the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and babysitting. She faithfully took care of her siblings during her mother's illness. The family wishes to thank the caring nurses and staff at TGMC and Dr. Russell Henry. Very special thanks goes to caregivers Beverly Boudreaux, Shana Neal, Susie Neal, Lucille Parfait and Bayou Home Care of Houma. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Francis de Sales School or Vandebilt High School. ======================
