She was a native of Theriot, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be Friday, August 16, 2013 from 9:00AM until service time at St. Bernadette Soubrious Catholic Church, Houma, LA. Funeral Mass will be Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11:00AM at St. Bernadette Soubrious Catholic Church, Houma, LA. Burial to follow at St. Francis #2 Cemetery, Houma, LA. She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, David Joseph Champagne of Houma; sons, David Joel Champagne and wife, Carolyn, Aaron Joseph Champagne and wife, Debbie of Cut Off, and Errol John Champagne and wife, Jennica; daughter, Sylvia Anne Champagne Mays and husband, Jim of Schulenburg, TX; 15- grandchildren, Ross (Ashley)Champagne, Laura (Shawn)LeBlanc, Tara (Jude) LeBlanc, Amanda (Yimin) Shei, Shannon (Craig)Lirette, Ryan Coyne, Job (Marie) Champagne, Jesse (Jessica)Champagne, Jonah Champagne, John (Elizabeth) Champagne, Sarah, James,Joseph and Grace Champagne, Noah Champagne, Adam and Rhett Mays, Amber (Paul) Airth; 8-great-grandchildren, Fallyn, Rylee, Jonathan, Joshua, Nathan, Aubrey, Hope and Adelaide. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cledement Joseph and Josephine Porche Champagne; Brother, Joseph Cledement Champagne She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. She was a member of Catholic Daughter's and Liturgy Commitee, a Eucharistic Minister, religious educator for CCD at St. Bernadette. She loved cooking, sewing and dancing. She was known for her coconut cakes. She loved all of God's creations, especially flowers, seashells and all nature. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Haydel Memorial Hospice, Terrebonne Home Care, Dr. Helman and her sitter for their great care and concern for Mrs. Elsie. ======================
