Margarite Davis Jenkins, 57, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, died 
at 6:56 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11,2013.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Greater New Salem 
Baptist Church in Houma. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the 
church, 

with burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Gray.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Jenkins; son, Melvin Davis; brother, 
Edward Davis Sr.; sisters, Doris (James) Bingham, Rose (James) Williams, Lisa 
Jones and Audrey Davis; stepsisters, Barbara Moore, Felton Lewis Taylor and 
Gracie (Arthur) Verrett; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Mae Warren and Clarence Lewis; 
grandparents, Rosa Queen and Sullivan Davis; and sisters, Geraldine D. King and 
Joyce Ann Davis.

Gayden Funeral Home in Jena is in charge of arrangements.
