Alton Johnson Sr., 67, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, died at 7:05 
a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Jones Funeral Home in Houma and 
from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Moses Baptist Church. Funeral 
services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, 

with burial in Halfway Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Avery Johnson; sons, Alton Jr. (Dale Marie), 
Torrell (Shanel), Troy (Cherita), and Hayes (Crystal) Johnson; daughters, 
Darlene J. (Melvin Jr.) Payne, Amy J. (Maurice) Matthews, Mary Merlene White, 
and Deanna Lyons; brothers, Kenneth Sr. (Rose) and Darryl Johnson, and Isaac 
(Bertha) Riley; sisters, Gerald Jeff, Linda Joseph and Sheila Johnson; 29 
grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henderson Jr. and Esther C. Johnson; 
and brothers, Wilfred Clark, Earle Lloyd, Cleveland Sr., and Clyde Johnson Sr. 
and Johnell Saulsberry.

Jones Funeral Home in Houma in charge of arrangements.
