Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1308.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Normand "T-man" Smith, 85, a native and resident of Chauvin, died at 6:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church cemetery in Chauvin. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Melva P. Smith; sons, Patrick Smith and wife, Bernadine, and Normand Smith Jr. and wife, Kelly; daughters, Sheila Smith Thibodeaux and husband, Lloyd, Ramona Smith Neil, Jeannie Smith Neil and husband, Brent, and Denise Smith DeHart and husband, Reginald; half-sisters, Shirley Tatum and Bella Smith; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Smith and Josephine LeBlanc Smith; son-in-law, Charles "Poncho" Neil; stepmother, RoseMary Smith; sister, Rezonia Smith Tivet; and niece, Brenda Tivet. He was a parishioner and usher at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. He was an avid gardener who was always found in his garden. He was a good natured soul and a character who loved to play jokes on his family and friends. He loved his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Abou-Issa and staff, Journey Hospice and TGMC's nursing staff. Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements. ======================
