SUMMERS, MONICA CLAIRE 

Monica Claire Summers, 49, a native of Granite City, Ill., resident of 
Thibodaux, and former resident of Nashville, Tenn., died Thursday, Aug. 29, 
2013.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time 
Tuesday at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial 
will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, 

with burial in St. Joseph church cemetery in Thibodaux.

She is survived by her mother, Adeline L. Summers; sister, Martha Summers; 
brother, Andrew Summers and wife, Mary; nephew, Drew Summers; and niece, Anna 
Summers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Summers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to help 
further brain tumor research. Two organizations that were helpful to the family 
during Monica's cancer journey are: The Musella Foundation For Brain Tumor 
Research and Information, Inc., 1100 Peninsula Boulevard, Hewlett, NY 11557

Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
