He was a native of Lucedale, MS and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.and Thursday, August 15, 2013 9:30AM until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. He is survived by his, wife, Brenda Vice Tanner, principal of St. Francis de Sales Elementary School, sons, Clinton E. Tanner and wife Kimberly, Lafayette, LA, Claiborne P. Tanner and wife Carla, Baton Rouge, LA, daughter, Claire T. Boudreaux, Houma, LA, grandchildren, Caroline Tanner, Kristen Tanner, Aidan Boudreaux, Porter Tanner, Ashtin Boudreaux, Eli Tanner, sisters, Faye Harrell, Jewel Crosby. He was preceded in death by his, parents, Porter and Tempie Tanner, brothers, Alfred Tanner, Marion Tanner, Jerome Tanner, sisters, InaVee Davis, O'Greeta Lamb, Rosalie Wallace. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral . He was a graduate of Southern Mississippi. He served in the United States Army (USAREUR Army Service Component Command) as a sergeant E-5 from 1960 to 1963. U.S. Veteran ======================
