Alta Duhon Timmons, 92, was born Dec. 16, 1920, resided in Lafayette and 
Thibodaux, and died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Thibodaux Healthcare Center in 
Thibodaux.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time 
Wednesday at Martin and Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette. The Rosary will be 
recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be 
at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 

with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. 
The Rev. Brian Taylor, pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will conduct 
the funeral services.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, James Timmons and wife, Kathy, of 
Thibodaux; sister, Agnes Guidry; brothers, Dan and Willie Duhon; grandchildren, 
Donna Rigler and Eddie Timmons; great-grandchildren, Thomas Wayne Rigler and 
Samantha Gwen Rigler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John "M.B." Timmons; sons, Alton 
Thomas and Wayne Charles Timmons; nine siblings; and parents, Ulyesse and Mary 
Alice Stoutes Duhon.

Pallbearers will be: Harold Huval, Tommy Pellerin, Calvin Duhon, Eddie Timmons, 
Thomas Rigler and Ignace Landry.

The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of 
Thibodaux Healthcare Center for the kindness and compassion give to Mrs. 
Timmons during her time of need.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and 
will be missed by all.

Martin and Castille Downtown Funeral Home in Lafayette is in charge of 
arrangements.
