Laura M. Washington, 74, a native of Gibson and resident of Schriever, went to 
be with Lord Monday, July 29, 2013.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Mt. Pilgrim 
Baptist Church in Gibson. Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday at the 
church, 

with burial in Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gibson cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Washington; sons, Tyrone Washington and 
wife, Barbara, and Clyde Washington and wife, Latoya; sister, Gustavia Kelly 
and husband, Ivory; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; goddaughters, 
Ron'Na Scott and Michelle Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lyngret Hanzy; parents, Jack and 
Dora Washington; sisters, Geneva Johnson, Louise Harvey, Jessie Mae Brent, 
Thelma Prince and Bertha Mack; brothers, Ruben, Oliver, Louis and Steward 
Washington.

She was a caring and loving mother who will be forever missed but never 
forgotten.

Community Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
