He was a native of Houma and resident of Jacksonville, Fla. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God Church at 205 N. Van Ave. in Houma. He is survived by his children, Tracey L. (Dade) Orgeron, Kandy L. (Ruddy) Brunet and Randel P. (Danielle) Babin Jr.; grandchildren, Chloe, Finn, Rusty, Harmony, Taylor and Katie; father, Leland Babin; brothers, Richard and Ronald (Karry) Babin; and sister, Robin Babin. He was proceeded in death by his mother, Mary Whitney; stepfather, Leo Whitney Sr.; stepmother, Evelyn Babin; sister, Rebecca (Rufus) Whatley; nieces, Allison and Summer Burroughs and Brittany Whatley; and nephew, Jacob Babin. He loved God, his family, and his friends with all of his heart and soul. He was a proud Cajun who loved fishing, hunting, crabbing, cooking, and entertaining. He enjoyed laughter in life and was always ready with a joke. He had an open-door policy to his heart and home and gave the shirt off of his back to help so many in his life. He loved to keep things simple and touched the lives of many as he journeyed down his path through life. He will be forever missed by his loving family and friends.
