After a life long battle with extensive health issues, he died in the arms of his mother, Misty Rodgers, while surrounded by family & friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 1, 2013 at Thibodaux Funeral Home from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm. Religious services will begin at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. He is survived by his mother, Misty Rodgers; sister, Shawna Cortez; brother, Tristan Rodgers; step-father, Chad Bergeron; godparent's, Jolene Cedotal & Justin Tabor; grandmother, Angie Johnson; grandfather, Wayne Bergeron; surrogate grandparent's, Veronica & Dwayne Tabor; aunt's, Vijia Gerhardt & Brooke Beard; uncle, Victor Snyde; father, Jeff Inman; Ms. Carmen; grandparent's, great grandparent's, aunt's, uncle's and cousin's. He is preceded in death by grandmother, Neena Miller; grandfather Richard Beard. Gavin was a student of South Thibodaux Elementary & just recently Bayou Blue Elementary. In February, Gavin was granted a wish through the Blake McKay Fight for Life Foundation where he, family & close friends attended Disney World. Gavin was known as "Captain Crayola." His all-time favorite passion was coloring. He also loved to sing & dance to his favorite tunes. Gavin has had the opportunity to touch many hearts throughout his life and has left everlasting impressions on many others. The family would like to thank all the doctors, hospitals (especially Childrens Hospital), home health professionals, Acadian Ambulance, Blake McKay Fight for Life Foundation and others for all the hard work and hours devoted to Gavin's healthcare throughout his life.
