Cantrelle, Jr. was born on August 26, 1927 in Galveston, TX. He moved with his family to Cut Off Louisiana in 1930. He is preceded in death by his parents; Edgar Antoine Cantrelle, Sr. and Aline Plaisance Cantrelle. In 1945 Ed joined The United States Navy and travelled to many places in the United States and it's territories serving our country. On May 7, 1947 Ed met the love of his life Vera Madeline Weber and after a short courtship, they married on February 14, 1948. After sixty-five years, she remains his loving wife. In the same year, Ed began working for South Central Bell where he continued for forty years. He was a member of the Jaycees and an active member of St. Hilary Parish where he served as a Eucharistic minister for thirty-six years. He likewise relished (and took very seriously) making cotton candy at the annual La Vie La Fourchaise. He enjoyed volunteering for various events throughout the year including the Tootsie Roll Drive every Fall. His devoted wife of sixty-five years; Vera Madeline Weber Cantrelle his two daughters; Jacqueline A. Englade and Christine A. McDonnell, his five adorable grandchildren; Erica, Danny, Cody, Dustin and Amber and his five great- grandchildren survive Ed.
