Manuel Drake, 69, a native of New Orleans and resident of Raceland, died 
Friday, Aug. 30, 2013. 

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kennedy Funeral Home. 

He is survived by his wife, Ida Mae Drake; sons, Jonathan, Nathaniel and 
Vincent Drake; stepsons, Donald and Alvin Wheaton; stepdaughters, Lorraine 
Harris, Jennifer Bishop, Rosalind Simmons, Tokelliar Wheaton and Trisha Every; 
and sisters, Ella Mae Dyer and Gilda Hadley. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Thelma Drake; brothers, 
Isaac Jones and Joseph Bush Sr.; sisters, Delores Williams, Grace Ray and 
Geraldine Dixon; and grandmother, Victoria Rainey. 

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. 

Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
