David Lynn Godsey, 67, a native of Houston, Texas, and resident of Houma, died 
Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013. 

A memorial service will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Samart Funeral Home in 
Houma. He is survived by his spouse, Cynthia Kay Shaffer Godsey, of Houma; 
sons, David Wayne Godsey and Matthew David Godsey; daughter, Marlene Catherine 
Godsey; sister, Becky Porter; and five grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Genelle Harrington Godsey; 
and son, Troy David Godsey. 

Samart Funeral Home in Houma, is in charge of arrangements.
