Rita Powell Griffin, 70, a native of Sicily Island and resident of Larose 
passed away on Monday September 9, 2013.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow on Wednesday 
from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. Funeral Services will be held at the church 
at 11:00 a.m. 

with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Griffin Chauvin and husband Allen; 
siblings, Charles Powell, Wanda Sumrall, Bettie Jo Williams, Carolyn Mills, 
Larry Powell, Connie Duet Berryman, Melissa Powell, Debbie Powell; 
grandchildren, Aaron Chauvin, J'Leigh Chauvin, Roger Clark, Buffy Rodrigue.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Griffin; parents, Riley and 
Hettie Powell; son, Clifford Savonne Griffin; siblings, William Powell, Ava 
Ruth Berryman, Letha Mae Powell, Robert Powell.

Rita liked sewing, cactus, crocheting, jewelry making and loving her family.

Rita is probably crocheting house slippers for all the angels in haven.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
