Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1309.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Bernie Joseph Gros, 84, a native of Belle River, longtime resident of Pierre Part, and current resident of Thibodaux, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home conducted by Bro. Caleb Silvertooth, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. He is survived by his beloved companion, Gloria N. Boudreaux; daughters, Mildred Marie Gros Landry and Joanne Marie Gros McPherson; sons and daughters- in-law, Michael Joseph Sr. and Margaret Gros, and Johnny James and Lisa Gros; stepchildren and their spouses, Kathleen and Gary Blanchard, Terry and Karen Boudreaux, David and Lesa Boudreaux, Karen Boudreaux and partner, Paula Bourgeois, and Mark Boudreaux; grandchildren, Nicole Sistrunk, Michael Jr., Timothy, Scott and Adrianna Gros, Grant and Chase Landry, and David "Davey" III, Devin, and Jessica McPherson; step-grandchildren, Brad and Bryan Blanchard, Melissa Embry, and Brent, Colby and Seth Boudreaux; great- grandchildren, Hailey, Ethan, Kailee, and EmmaClaire Sistrunk, Hannah and Jesse Gros and Ian Landry; step-great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kale, Taylor and Caroline Blanchard, and Ethan Embry; and sisters-in-law, Eve Matherne, Betty Lou Gros and Nancy Gros Jackson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Louise Therese Landry Gros; parents, James "Jimmy" and Nellie Pipsair Gros; stepson, Russell Boudreaux Jr.; step-grandson, Brandon Boudreaux; brothers, Harry, Russell, Riley, Louis and Wiley Gros; brother-in-law, Anatole Landry; and sister-in-law, Annette L. Daigle. He was a retired oiler/operator who worked 29 years on dredge boats for Jankey/Guy Scroggins. He loved all seafood, but his favorite was Choupic "bowfin" cypress trout. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved watching "cowboy movies," including Cheyenne, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and The Rifleman. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring doctors and staff at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.
