Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1309.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Lydia Anne Blanchard Lapeyrouse, 91, a native of Chauvin and resident of Houma, died at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church cemetery in Chauvin. She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Donald (Theresa) Chauvin, Mrs. Ural (Mona) Lapeyrouse and Mrs. Mark (Lynn) Domangue; 11 grandchildren, Audy, Marty, Lacey, Sherry, Zane, Jill, Jamie, Jeff, Chad, Troy and Dawn; 21 great- grandchildren, Mindy, Jana, Hobie, Meagan, Tyler, Alaya, Breah, Dustin, Miles, Journey, Michael, Corey, Brett, Kalyn, Janson, Jordon, Arielle, Andrew, Aiden Trista and Cullen; three great-great-grandchildren, Emma, Emily and Luke; and twin sister, Lydie Blanchard Falgout. She was preceded in death by her husband, Iry Lapeyrouse Sr.; son, Iry "Butch" Lapeyrouse Jr.; grandson, Lane Lapeyrouse; parents, Emile and Theresa Theriot Blanchard; brothers, Dewey, Paul, Charles, Junius and Armand Blanchard; and sisters, Blanche Blanchard Cunningham and Eula Blanchard Pellegrin. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. She was a very devout Catholic who revered the Blessed Virgin Mary and recited daily prayers and the rosary. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post No. 9608, the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 380, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the St. Joseph Ladies Altar Society, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary Council No. 5013 and a former Lagniappe Fair worker. She was a shrimp factory worker for more than 50 years. Heaven gained another sweet, caring, loving, kind and gentle spirit. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Oaks of Houma, who provided loving care for more than 8 1/2 years, and to her dear roommate, Jeanette Haydel.
