Cloris Florent Verdin, 58, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, died 
at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013. 

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at New Rising Sun 
Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, 

with burial in Halfway Cemetery. 

She is survived by her husband, Herman Verdin Sr.; sons, Kevin and Herman 
Verdin Jr.; brothers, Larry Florent and wife, Janice, Alan Florent and wife, 
Sharon, and Dmitri Florent and wife, Rosalyn; eight grandchildren; and one 
great-grandchild. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Leola Liggins Florent; 
brothers, William, Carl and Randy Florent; paternal grandparents, Collin and 
Claudia Hebert Florent; and maternal grandparents, Matthew and Clotile Collins 
and Julia Gray. 

Jones Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
