Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m Thursday at Samart Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chauvin. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Chauvin . He is survived by his spouse, Rosabelle Domangue Arceneaux; son, Lawrence J. Arceneaux Jr.; daughters, Patsy A. Ayo and husband, Danny, Ellen A. Hutchinson and husband, Jeffrey, Anna A. Menge and husband, Vincent, and Leona A. Falcon; sisters, Joyce Trahan, Rae Ann Boudreaux, Geraldine Bergeron and Mildred Hebert; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Leona Arceneaux; and sisters, Hilda Mahler and Yvonne Gleason. "Sonny Boy" was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He was the owner of Arceneaux's Body Shop for more than 50 years. He was a kindhearted and very hard working man. He loved to hunt, fish, garden and cut grass. He would help anyone who was in need. You would never see him without a smile. We will miss your waves from the swing and your funny jokes. Until we meet again.
